Citizenship

Citizenship

The aims of the Citizenship curriculum are to encourage engagement with the fundamental British values including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and respect of different beliefs and faiths. Students will gain knowledge of Britain’s democratic parliamentary system and its role in shaping our values. They should develop the ability to recognise the difference between right and wrong and to understand legal boundaries, respecting the civil and criminal law of the UK. They will be encouraged to be active citizens, participating within both the local community and on a national level, demonstrating skills such as advocacy.
