PE and Sport

PE and BTEC Sport

At the Academy, we recognise the importance of PE and the role it has to play in promoting long term healthy lifestyles and making a positive impact on physical, mental and social health. The intent of our curriculum is to provide all students with the opportunity to engage in a broad range of high quality PE and sporting activities as well as to develop skills of leadership, coaching and choreography.

Our vision is that every child will achieve their potential and continue to lead a physically active lifestyle beyond their years at secondary school. Through differentiated tasks the PE department will strive to develop all-round learners who can problem solve, analyse, be creative and evaluate their own and others’ performance.

Through our teaching of PE, we will instil our core values and transferable life skills of resilience and mutual respect as well as providing them with opportunities to take part in competitive sport through our extra-curricular programme.
