Lord Nash Visits Lanfranc

By in ,

The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy welcomed Lord Nash, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Schools, on Tuesday 23rd September for a tour led by the Head Boy and Head Girl. Also in attendance were Sr Felicé Wright (Chair of the Coloma Trust), Mrs Maureen Martin (Chief Executive of the Coloma Trust) and Mr Andy Crofts (Executive Principal of the Academy).

Lord Nash was keen to see first hand the work of the Trust and began with a tour of Coloma Convent Girls’ School before joining us at The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy to see progress since our opening on 1 September.

Morolake Adefioye (Head Girl) and Jeeson Johnson (Head Boy) shared some of their own experiences of life at the new Academy and were keen to show Lord Nash the learning opportunities presented in a variety of faculty areas.

Lord Nash was also keen to see the site for the proposed new building due to commence construction in early 2015. As a sponsor of his own group of academies Lord Nash has first hand experience of the process of transition and praised the work done by the Trust to date in Croydon schools.
