Careers Week Competition

To celebrate careers week, students at The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy had the opportunity to enter our 2021 Careers Competition. Careers Week provides an opportunity for everyone to develop their understanding of different job roles, industries and training opportunities in the world of work.

Our students were asked to use the Fast Tomato website to review their interests, skills and potential future qualifications in order to gain access to relevant labour market information and insights into career pathways and opportunities most linked to their questionnaire answers. Students then had the opportunity to use this information to show off their creativity and develop a presentation on the career which was most appealing to them.

Competition entries were judged on the insight shown into their chosen career and ranged from informative PowerPoint presentations to animated films.

Well done to everyone who entered this year’s competition and particular congratulations go to the winners and runners up:

 Winner – Max March (RSPCA)

Second place – Evelyn Lewis (Interior design)

Third place – Luisa Conde (Art)

Mrs Owusu-Daaku, Careers Lead, congratulated the successful students on their entries:

“We are incredibly proud of the entries submitted by students. The winner showed sound understanding of their career of interest and the qualifications they will require in the future. Max’s competition entry stood out to the judges, as he clearly demonstrated his passion and knowledge of his chosen future career.”
