If your son or daughter would like to learn an instrument, pupils can ask for a letter from Mr. Bridgwood at the Academy.

KS3

All KS3 students study Music twice a week at KS3. Pupils get the opportunity to perform using a variety of instruments including Keyboards, Djembes and Ukuleles.

KS4

Music is an option subject at KS4, and pupils may choose to study for the BTEC commencing in year 9.

 In Year 9 pupils are taught the key skills necessary for them to complete the BTEC in years 10 and 11. This includes an intensive introduction to our music production software Cubase Pro 9.5, extensive performance work, both solo and ensemble, and an introduction to concepts that appear on the Unit 1 Exam.

In Years 10 and 11 pupils work towards completing their coursework portfolios for Composition, and Performance & Music Product.
