The Key Stage 4 badminton team came third in the Croydon Schools Badminton Tournament recently. Imthiyas and Muneef both won the majority of their singles matches against some tough opponents.
A special mention should go to Luke and Yousuf, who were the only undefeated doubles pairing at the tournament.
The Key Stage 3 badminton team came second in their badminton tournament, losing out very marginally to Riddlesdown in the final.
All of the boys played very well on the day and were unlucky not to come away with the gold medal. We hope for even greater success next year.
As part of the Academy’s plan to ensure all year 7s have a successful transition to high school, the pastoral team organised a three day residential to Downe Scout Camp in Kent just before October half term.
Those who attended had the opportunity to take part in a number of fun and exciting activities such as crate stacking, Jacob’s ladder and archery. On the last evening, students celebrated a successful residential around the campfire singing songs and showing off their musical talents.
Over the three days students had time to make new friendships, improve their communication with each other and develop their team-working skills.
It was a great time getting to know each other and the year 7 tutor team. We look forward to running the trip again next year.
